Gree Electric × LOGIANT: A Logistics Revolution Across Three Workshops
Recently, Gree Electric Appliances, a leading home appliance giant, has partnered with LOGIANT to deploy a customized outdoor autonomous tractor solution at its Hefei production base, enabling cross-zone logistics connectivity across three workshops. Leveraging robust technology, the project has overcome an industry-wide challenge: a 15° ramp on the connecting corridor, opening up material circulation channels between multiple workshops and fundamentally transforming the labor-intensive traditional manual handling model.
Gree Electric Appliances is a world-renowned manufacturer of air conditioners and home appliances. Listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1996 (Stock Code: 000651), its main product portfolio covers air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water heaters and other home appliances, as well as new energy equipment and intelligent equipment. It operates 77 production bases worldwide, with products sold to more than 190 countries and regions.

Project Background
This project is implemented at Gree Electric’s Hefei production base. Prior to the upgrade, the base adopted conventional manual logistics operations. The production workflow features numerous process nodes and complex cross-workshop transfer routes. Materials need to be delivered and transported from the central warehouse across three production workshops. The 15° ramp on the connecting corridor, a mandatory passage, represented the biggest on-site operational challenge. Serving as a critical link between the warehouse and multiple workshops, this ramp posed great difficulties for traditional manual trolleys: heavy manual pushing was required for uphill travel, while precise speed control was hard to achieve downhill. Cargo slippage, sideslip, tipping and material damage frequently occurred, forming a major bottleneck for cross-workshop logistics.
Solution
LOGIANT’ outdoor autonomous tractor travels uphill and downhill smoothly at a constant speed, eliminating the hardship of long-distance, ramp-intensive manual handling. The autonomous tractor can automatically align precisely with the 1-to-3 trailer combination, connect the towing hitch, and lock securely. No manual intervention is needed for hitching or unhitching throughout the process.
Powered by a mixed-traffic scheduling system, multiple outdoor autonomous tractors are coordinated under global scheduling. Connected to the customer’s upper-level system, the system receives production transfer orders and automatically carries out intelligent task decomposition, dynamic global route allocation, ramp passage sequence scheduling, and equipment start-stop control. It delivers fully automated workflows covering warehouse outbound, automatic trailer hitching, long-distance transportation across three workshops via the ramp, and automatic pinpoint stopping.

Core Advantages
Overcoming the Challenge of the 15° Connecting Corridor Ramp
Tailored for the 15° ramp scenario linking the warehouse and three workshops, the autonomous tractor has undergone special ramp calibration and performance optimization. It maintains steady, constant speed on uphill and downhill runs, automatically adjusting speed and balancing the vehicle’s center of gravity to prevent cargo slippage, rollover and material damage common in manual operations.
7×24-Hour Fully Automated Round-the-Clock Transportation
The entire unmanned transfer system supports nonstop 7×24-hour operation, free from constraints of labor shifts, breaks and rotations, and ensures uninterrupted cross-workshop logistics on site.
Operation Driven by Intelligent System Commands
Transfer orders are issued directly from the customer’s upper-level system. The scheduling platform automatically assigns autonomous tractors, plans dynamic global routes, manages priority access on ramps, and executes precise stopping at target stations.
Full Traceability of Logistics Data
The intelligent scheduling system automatically records execution time, travel routes, ramp passage status, material flow, equipment operating data and operation milestones for every transfer task. Data is synchronized and uploaded to the customer’s upper-level system in real time.
Multi-layer Safety Protection Mechanism
The outdoor autonomous tractor is equipped with multi-line LiDAR, panoramic perception, audible and visual warnings, emergency braking and other multi-layer safety systems, substantially raising the safety standard of on-site logistics operations.
Intelligent Mixed-Traffic Scheduling for Cost Reduction and Efficiency Gains
Managed centrally by the mixed-traffic scheduling platform, the system dynamically calculates optimal cross-workshop transfer routes, proactively avoids congestion at vehicle intersections, resolves travel conflicts, and reduces empty runs, helping manufacturing operations cut costs and boost productivity.
